Job summary

Vultr is seeking a Senior Product Manager to own the Platform product suite—the foundation for provisioning, managing, and governing infrastructure. You’ll shape API design, Console UX, CLI/SDK tooling, and governance features, partnering with Compute, Network, Storage, Security, and AI teams to deliver an API-first, developer-friendly experience.

The role emphasizes deep platform engineering fluency, collaboration with cross-functional teams, and driving adoption of infrastructure-as-code

Qualifications

7+ years of product management experience in cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, infrastructure-as-code, or API products.
Deep understanding of platform engineering—APIs, CLIs, SDKs, or developer tools at scale.
Experience defining product strategy and roadmaps for platform/developer-facing products at scale.
Experience with cloud account management and governance products — billing, IAM, audit logging, sub-accounts, or equivalent.
Strong technical background for API design, authentication flows, rate limiting, and frontend performance.
Experience with infrastructure-as-code ecosystems — Terraform, Pulumi, CloudFormation, or similar.
Track record of shipping developer-facing products with measurable impact.
Experience with cloud provider platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.).
Experience with API lifecycle management.
Experience working across cross-functional teams.
Excellent communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end Platform product suite roadmap covering APIs, Console, CLI, SDKs, Terraform provider, and governance features.
Define platform and developer experience strategy aligned to infrastructure roadmap and customer needs.
Drive the customer-facing platform across APIs, Console UI, CLI, and SDKs for a coherent experience.
Own API as a product, including versioning, deprecation, rate limiting, pagination, errors, and auth flows.
Own the Console as a product, collaborating with design and frontend engineering.
Own Terraform provider, CLI, and SDKs to keep tooling current with API changes.
Own account management and governance features like Billing and IAM.
Own operational surfaces like Regions, Templates, Images, Startup Scripts, SSH Keys, and Support Tickets.
Collaborate with engineering on tradeoffs for API design, auth flows, rate limiting, and performance.
Build products for digital-native builders and enterprise adopters with governance capabilities.
Ensure API-first and Console-ready launches in partnership with Compute/Network/Storage/Security/AI teams.
Define and measure platform health metrics such as API availability, latency, and SDK adoption.
