Job summary

Salesforce is seeking a Platform Orchestration engineer to design and operate the foundational systems that manage how services are deployed, operated, and observed across Slack’s infrastructure. You’ll build scalable, compliant platforms that enable engineering teams to ship faster with confidence.

You bring strong backend skills, AWS expertise, and hands-on Terraform experience, along with a pragmatic, automation-focused mindset that drives reliability, cost efficiency, and robust deployment

Qualifications

• Strong software engineering fundamentals; ability to design scalable systems.
• Curiosity and a systems mindset about platform layers and orchestration.
• Reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency for distributed systems.

• Experience operating backend systems in production.
• Hands-on AWS experience with core services.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end delivery of software projects that improve deployment across Slack’s infra.
• Design and build foundational orchestration systems for reliability and scalability.
• Develop tools to streamline CD, automate incident workflows, and track service health.
• Implement platform solutions using IaC, automation frameworks, and AWS-native services.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to integrate platform capabilities into workflows.
• Extend internal frameworks to support deployment workflows and lifecycle management.
• Advocate for platform efficiency and cost-conscious engineering through tooling.
• Drive best practices in service orchestration and cloud resource usage.
