Job summary

Elevate Government Solutions is seeking a Senior Platform Operations Engineer to manage secure, scalable production infrastructure for a federal client. The role is remote for US citizens with an ACTIVE SECRET clearance and offers hybrid options in Vienna, VA or remote work.

You will oversee production environments, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud services, with a focus on uptime and reliability in a government context.

Qualifications

• Proactive problem-solving mindset and ability to diagnose complex operations.
• Experience with Python in operational/support environments.
• Hands-on with Terraform, Ansible, Docker and CI/CD pipelines.
• Strong Git/version control proficiency.
• Comfortable with Linux command-line and operational tasks.
• Fast learner of new technologies.
• Experience monitoring/maintaining production infrastructure collaboratively.
• Strong incident response and communication skills.
• Ability to work East Coast hours.
• Hybrid work in Vienna, VA or remote work acceptable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, monitor, and troubleshoot production environments to ensure uptime and performance.
• Operate infrastructure using Terraform, Ansible, and Docker.
• Oversee CI/CD pipelines and automate workflows with Git.
• Ensure reliability for AWS services (EKS, S3, EMR).
• Support Spark, JupyterHub, and Hue in operations.
• Diagnose incidents, perform root cause analysis, and drive resolutions.
• Implement and monitor infrastructure alerts and diagnostics.
• Optimize data flows and storage integrations.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and clients to coordinate deployments.
• Contribute to continual improvement of platform processes and documentation.
