Atomic Machines is seeking a Senior Manager, Platform Manufacturing Engineering to scale production of the Matter Compiler devices from pilot to high-volume manufacturing. You will own the equipment, bring-up, qualification, and reliability, and lead a team of engineers.

This hands-on, player-coach role requires CAD design, floor debugging, mentoring, and strong cross-functional collaboration with Design, Product, and Supply Chain across Emeryville and Santa Clara.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of manufacturing or equipment engineering experience.
• Current hands-on CAD design and floor debugging.
• Proven ownership of end-to-end production equipment.
• Experience leading teams of engineers.
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering; advanced degree preferred.

Responsabilités

• Lead the hardest equipment projects on the critical path yourself — architecture, CAD, build, bring-up and qualification.
• Lead a team of 5-10 engineers spanning equipment design, automation and controls, integration, and sustaining.
• Set the engineering standard by producing reference designs, qualification plans, RCCAs and documentation.
• Coach through the work — pair on designs, run technical reviews, hand off scope as engineers are ready.
• Own the delivery record for the function — equipment, qualifications and production readiness against dates.
• Lead equipment deployment end to end: installation, validation, commissioning, acceptance testing, SOP/WI release.
• Run root cause and corrective action personally on failures and drive actions across teams.
• Install and uphold operating standards: documentation, change control, qualification and release discipline.
• Plan organizational growth — forecast hiring needs, define roles, manage headcount and budget.
• Own and resolve escalated personnel situations arising from business needs.
• Get manufacturability and equipment requirements into specs with Design Engineering and Product.
• Balance priorities and communicate impact when needed.
• Own contract manufacturer and automation supplier execution through final integration and test.
• Drive throughput, yield, cost and uptime improvements and establish metrics.
