Job summary

ComboCurve Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our Platform Team. You’ll design and build core services, internal APIs, and data workflows powering ComboCurve’s products, with a focus on robust Python code, architecture, and testability.

You’ll work on scaling data processing, deploy on GCP with serverless and managed services, and mentor teammates while shaping platform direction through ADRs and docs.

Qualifications

• Advanced Python proficiency with type annotations and async/await.
• Modern dependency management using uv or similar tooling.
• Strong software architecture and clean design; scalable systems.
• API design using REST or gRPC with OpenAPI specifications.
• High-performance data processing with Polars, PyArrow, or Iceberg.
• Data warehouse integration with Snowflake or Databricks.
• GCP deployment using Cloud Run, Cloud Functions, and Cloud Storage.
• CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions and automated testing.
• Automated testing with pytest, fixtures, parameterization, and mocks.
• Technical leadership: mentoring via code reviews and ADRs.
• AI agent frameworks/LLM orchestration experience.
• Bash scripting for automation.
• Git mastery and clean commit history.
• Docker and Docker Compose for development and production.
• Static analysis with Ruff and Pyright.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain platform services and internal tooling in Python.
• Design clean, well-typed interfaces and services that scale with data.
• Develop and own internal APIs with clear contracts and docs.
• Create high-performance data processing paths for analytics and ingestion.
• Deploy and operate Python services on GCP using serverless platforms.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines, tests, and developer experience.
• Collaborate with product/data engineers and leadership to guide platform direction.
• Write ADRs, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation.
• Mentor engineers through code reviews and standards-setting.
