ComboCurve, a cloud-based software platform for the energy sector, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to advance its Economics engine. You will design, implement, and maintain calculation logic, data flows, and backend services in Python.

Qualifications

• Production-grade Python 3.13+ with strong type safety.
• REST or gRPC API design with OpenAPI contracts.
• Experience with Flask or FastAPI and Gunicorn deployment.
• Solid software architecture using SOLID and clean architecture.
• Familiarity with pandas/numpy for data analysis and insights.
• MongoDB schema design and aggregation pipelines.
• Docker and Docker Compose for containerized services.
• Testing with pytest and fixtures.
• Code quality enforced via ruff/pyright.

Responsibilities

• Write efficient Python code for scalable time-series data on cloud infrastructure.
• Own features end-to-end—from scoping to deployment and monitoring.
• Contribute to architectural decisions shaping the ComboCurve platform.
• Build and maintain backend services and APIs in Python.
• Model, query, and optimize MongoDB data with indexes and pipelines.
• Deploy and operate containerized services on GCP (Cloud Run, Functions, and Storage).
• Incorporate AI-first development practices to accelerate delivery and quality.
• Collaborate with engineers through code reviews and documentation.
