Job summary

Beacon Technologies, Inc. seeks a Sr. Platform Engineer to join the datacenter engineering team. You will manage OpenShift workloads, build automation with Terraform/Ansible, and deliver platform services across AWS and GCP in multi-account security models.

You will strengthen infrastructure with OS hardening, disaster recovery, and SRE principles, while contributing to continuous improvement and strong documentation practices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of relevant infrastructure or platform engineering experience.
• Hands-on experience managing workloads on Red Hat OpenShift, including OpenShift Virtualization and Kubernetes.
• Experience with image provisioning, template management, and shared resources for OpenShift workloads.
• Hands-on experience in at least one public cloud: AWS or GCP.
• Experience with multi-cloud account security models and cross-account service delivery.
• Experience across on-prem technologies such as VMware and Linux/Windows server administration.
• Foundational system administration and network foundations.
• Experience with Red Hat Ansible Automation Platform (AAP) and building Ansible content for on-prem and cloud services.
• Understanding of OS hardening practices for templated deployments.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs, GraphQL, microservices for automation.
• Security best practices, secrets management, certificates management.
• Proficiency in Python, Linux, Shell, Bash, or similar languages.
• Proficiency with Git/GitLab and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of resilient system design, high availability, and disaster recovery.
• Participate in agile processes and communicate technical information.

Responsibilities

• Manage VM and container workloads on OpenShift and Kubernetes.
• Provision and manage images and templates for OpenShift workloads.
• Build automation for on-prem and cloud environments using Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation.
• Deliver platform services across AWS and/or GCP in multi-account models.
• Perform OS lifecycle management through golden images, patching, and hardening.
• Contribute to large-scale resiliency, data protection, and disaster recovery.
• Own automation work within projects from design through delivery.
• Develop and maintain Ansible playbooks/roles following Git workflows.
• Support evaluations and re-engineering for continuous improvement.
• Document design decisions, estimates, code modules, and performance metrics as required.
