Qualifications

• 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems or data-plane/control-plane infrastructure in SaaS/PaaS environments.

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement scalable DBaaS control-plane and infrastructure components that improve throughput, multi-region operability, and reliability.
• Translate ambiguous customer and system requirements into clear technical designs and actionable workstreams with product and engineering partners.
• Own performance and resiliency outcomes by improving resource utilization, fault tolerance, and availability through profiling and targeted optimization of I/O, CPU, and network bottlenecks under production load.
• Enhance lifecycle capabilities including automated failover, continuous backups, point-in-time recovery, and maintenance workflows to support higher data volumes and tighter SLAs.
• Guide technical decisions for team engineers through design reviews and code reviews; contribute clear design documentation for initiatives you lead.
• Mentor team members through technical guidance and architectural reviews to accelerate growth and execution velocity.
• Operate built systems by establishing observability and recovery practices, participating in on-call rotations, and converting incident learnings into durable platform improvements.
