Job summary

Marathon Petroleum Corporation is seeking a Senior Platforms Engineer to lead infrastructure automation within Midstream IT. Based in Findlay, Ohio, with additional locations including San Antonio, Texas, this role drives CI/CD for infrastructure, SRE, DevSecOps, and SDLC improvements, establishing platform standards and automation frameworks.

You will collaborate with management, product teams, and engineers; require a Bachelor's in Information Technology and 5+ years of platforms engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, related field or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of relevant platforms engineer experience.
• Preferred 10+ years in Networking, Compute, Infrastructure as Code (IaC), Configuration Management, Identity & Access Management (IAM), and/or Platform Development.

Responsibilities

• Identifies performance bottlenecks, conducts root cause analysis, proposes and implements solutions to enhance platform & system performance.
• Leads design and configuration of complex platforms & systems, ensuring high availability and scalability.
• Participates in disaster recovery planning and testing.
• Analyzes performance data to identify trends and implement continuous improvements.
• Promotes knowledge sharing through training and mentoring of engineers.
