Job summary

Xcimer Energy is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead the internal developer platform and related HPC infrastructure at our Denver, CO headquarters. You will architect and ship systems, data pipelines, and tooling, enabling researchers and engineers to focus on physics and engineering rather than infrastructure.

You will mentor engineers, set standards for reliable, observable, and scalable platforms, and collaborate with physics, controls, and software teams in a fast-paced R&D

Qualifications

• Education as stated; Bachelor's degree required or higher.
• 7+ years of platform, infrastructure, or software engineering experience.
• Strong fundamentals in software engineering; proficient in Python, Rust, or C++.
• Experience building internal platforms or tooling that improved productivity.
• Hands-on Linux and infrastructure automation (Ansible, Terraform).
• Experience with cloud infra (AWS/GCP/Azure) and HPC clusters.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Kubernetes, Docker).
• A track record of reliability, observability, and scalable design.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration.
• U.S. citizen or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Build and own the internal developer platform as a product.
• Design services behind data pipelines, data warehouse, dashboards and environments.
• Extend Open OnDemand portals and developer tooling; manage budgets.
• Mentor junior engineers and coordinate cross-functional projects.
• Set standards for infrastructure as code, observability, and resilience.
