Job summary

Spotify is seeking a backend-focused engineer to join the Platform team in New York. You will design, build, and operate secure enterprise AI platform capabilities, create reliable APIs, and own major workstreams from design through launch.

You will work with Python/Go, cloud infrastructure, and identity technologies, balancing speed with reliability while shaping governance and scalable AI tooling across Spotify’s internal systems at scale.

Qualifications

• Strong backend development experience and reliability in production systems.
• Experience with Python or Go and API design across complex services.
• Knowledge of cloud infrastructure and identity technologies (OAuth, SAML, SCIM).
• Familiarity with enterprise SaaS or platform engineering and LLM integration patterns.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate secure enterprise AI platform capabilities that connect AI models, agents, tools, and Spotify’s internal systems.
• Own major workstreams across enterprise AI infrastructure from technical design through launch and operation.
• Build reliable backend services, APIs, and integrations enabling AI-powered experiences.
• Develop scalable approaches to AI governance including identity-aware access, auditing, and policy enforcement.
• Design, build, test, and evaluate agentic systems and workflows to help users access information and complete tasks.
• Take operational ownership of services, balancing speed, reliability, security, and maintainability.
• Collaborate with engineers to identify opportunities and turn AI needs into scalable platform capabilities.
• Contribute to engineering practices and knowledge sharing for Spotify-scale AI infrastructure.
