Job summary

Addi is seeking an experienced Platform Engineer to design and operate an internal developer platform, enabling faster, safer software delivery across JVM services. You’ll own build pipelines, observability, and reliability, empowering product teams with scalable tooling.

The role emphasizes strong architecture, expansive JVM knowledge, and leadership in developer experience. You’ll work in a high-impact fintech environment focused on Colombia’s market growth and global scale.

Qualifications

• Deep expertise in software architecture & the JVM ecosystem.
• 3–5 years building or operating platforms for Java/JVM backends at scale.
• Strong fundamentals in distributed systems, API design, data consistency.
• Hands-on JVM internals: GC tuning, classloading, threads, heap, JIT.
• Ability to diagnose performance from Java code and bridge engineering with infra.
• Proven track record building internal developer platforms and DX metrics.
• Expertise in CI/CD with remote caching, parallelization, and incremental builds.
• Experience instrumenting DX metrics: DORA, build times, deployment velocity.
• Observability stack mastery: Prometheus, Grafana, OpenTelemetry, tracing.
• Can mentor teams; communicates platform value to engineers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Compress p95 CI pipeline times by 40% within 12 months using caching, parallelization, and incremental compilation for Java/JVM.
• Deliver 100% automated SLO dashboard instrumentation and alert policy coverage for new and existing services within 6 months.
• Establish zero platform-team dependency for production performance triage within 9 months by standardizing observability across JVM services.
• Drive measurable reduction in platform support tickets by shipping AI-assisted capabilities (auto runbooks, log triage, scaffolding).
