Job summary

Mattel Sales Corp. is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to own cloud infrastructure and live services for its digital games and platforms. You will design GCP environments, build automation, and manage CI/CD pipelines while ensuring reliability at global scale.

You will collaborate with internal studios and external partners, implement secure hosting, monitoring, and cost optimization, and participate in on-call rotations to support live operations.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in infrastructure, platform engineering, DevOps, or site reliability engineering, with hands-on experience supporting production services through releases, growth, and incidents.
• Strong production experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), including networking, compute, storage, access management, and managed services.
• Practical Terraform experience and strong scripting or programming skills, with disciplined use of version control and code review for infrastructure changes.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins or similar tools, including build workers, automated testing, artifact storage, secrets, and release and rollback workflows.
• Experience using logs, metrics, and traces to diagnose problems and designing reliable alerting and automated reporting.
• Knowledge of web infrastructure, including CDNs, DNS, TLS, load balancing, and caching, and ability to troubleshoot across applications and services.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate cloud infrastructure. Design and run GCP environments for games and backend services.
• Automate infrastructure and workflows using Terraform and scripts for repeatable setups.
• Own build and deployment pipelines; manage CI/CD pipelines and deployment infrastructure with external studios.
• Own monitoring, alerting, and automated reporting; define actionable alerts and capacity/cost reporting.
• Improve service reliability by troubleshooting incidents and documenting fixes; participate in on-call and recovery tests.
• Keep services secure by coordinating with security teams on access, data protection, and fixes.
• Build full-stack integrations to connect clients and backend APIs; contribute to publishing and live ops tooling.
• Guide planning with external studios from scoping through launch; define hosting and monitoring requirements.
