Job summary

Swiftly is seeking a Platform Engineer to build and scale the cloud platform that underpins our transit data products. You’ll modernize AWS infrastructure, expand across regions, and raise observability and security with automated checks.

This role focuses on infrastructure, tooling, and developer experience, collaborating with product and go-to-market teams. You’ll help ensure 99.9% uptime and enable engineers to move fast and safely with AI-enabled workflows.

Qualifications

• Experience building and operating cloud infrastructure on AWS.
• Hands-on with Kubernetes or container orchestration.
• Infra-as-code with Terraform or Ansible.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and migrating workloads.
• Designing multi-region deployments: failover and data residency.
• Building AI tooling that engineers adopt.
• Production-grade scripting in Python/Java/JS/Go.
• Secure cloud networking: VPCs, IAM, subnets, load balancers.
• Observability practices with Grafana and OpenTelemetry.
• Strong written communication across teams.
• On-call troubleshooting experience.
• Collaborative, growth-oriented mindset.

Responsibilities

• Migrate to Amazon EKS with reusable Kubernetes patterns.
• Expand into a new AWS region with multi-region resilience.
• Own and improve shared cloud infra and provision with IaC.
• Make observability self-service with versioned dashboards and alerts.
• Build and operate the AI platform layer for engineering efforts.
• Strengthen CI/CD pipelines and migrate workloads between platforms.
• Document platform decisions and align across teams.
• Collaborate with product and go-to-market to plan platform work.
• Share on-call rotation and reduce repeat incidents.
