Oracle Corporation’s Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) seeks a Senior Platform Software Engineer in Nashville to build the platform components, APIs, and SDKs that empower OCI services for engineers and customers. This role emphasizes ownership of platform areas, reliability, and collaboration across OCI teams.

The position is office-based with onsite presence in Nashville, Tennessee, and relocation assistance may be available per policy.

Qualifications

Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience.
4+ years of software development experience; advanced degrees may reduce years.
Proficiency in OO or systems languages (Java, C++, C#, Go).
Experience designing backend services, APIs, and SDKs.
Understanding of distributed systems, data structures, and secure software practices.
Experience with API design, integration, versioning, testing, and source control.
Strong problem solving, communication, and ownership.

Responsibilities

Design, build, test, and operate backend platform components, APIs, SDKs, and frameworks.
Own a platform area, evolve contracts, versioning, and multi-tenant interoperability.
Diagnose issues across distributed services and deliver upgrade-safe fixes.
Improve availability, performance, and operability via resilience patterns and automation.
Collaborate with OCI engineers to meet consumer needs and guide adoption.
Create documentation, samples, and operational guidance for users.
Participate in incident response and continuous-improvement efforts.
