Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Staff Platform Engineer to design and implement the internal platforms that power our engineering, autonomy, and enterprise operations environments.

You will lead platform architecture, automation, and observability across cloud, on‑prem, and hybrid environments while collaborating with security and infrastructure teams to improve reliability and developer productivity.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 8+ years in platform engineering, DevOps, or SRE roles for large-scale systems.
• Deep hands-on experience designing and operating cloud/hybrid infra.
• Strong IaC and automation (Terraform/Ansible).
• Experience building/improving CI/CD pipelines and developer tooling.
• Strong Linux systems engineering and scripting (Python/Go/Bash/PowerShell).
• Ability to own complex platform initiatives and partner with multiple teams.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across engineering groups.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve scalable internal platform infrastructure across cloud, on-prem, and hybrid environments.
• Develop platform capabilities for standardized, secure application deployment.
• Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code frameworks and reusable modules.
• Create paved path patterns to simplify secure software delivery.
