Job summary
GitHub is seeking a Software Engineer to join the Client Apps Platform team. In this role, you will maintain and operate production Ruby and Go services while collaborating with cross-functional teams. A minimum of 6 years of experience is required in Software Engineering, along with proficiency in multiple programming languages. This position offers a fully remote work option and competitive compensation ranging from $124,000 to $329,200 based on experience and location.
Qualifications
- 6+ years experience in Software Engineering, maintaining production software.
- Demonstrated experience in scalable service design.
- Strong communication skills for cross-team discussions.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and operate Ruby and Go services for client apps.
- Lead technical design discussions and document architectural decisions.
- Define success metrics, SLOs, and monitor service health.
Skills
6+ years experience in Software Engineering
Experience maintaining and delivering production software
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Experience with live services monitoring
Hands-on experience with Go and/or Ruby
Education
Doctorate in Computer Science or related field
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field
