Job summary

InterSystems in Boston, MA is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to join the Platform Engineering organization. You will design, build, and modernize internal applications and tools that streamline the Software Development Lifecycle and boost developer productivity.

You will work as a full-stack developer with a DevOps mindset, contributing to CI/CD pipelines, observability, and secure authentication using OAuth2. Collaboration across teams is essential to deliver scalable, reliable solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience in Software Development, Platform Engineering, or DevOps roles.
• Solid understanding of SQL and relational databases.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI) and familiarity with GitLab, Perforce, Ansible, Kubernetes.
• Security-focused development including OAuth2 authentication/authorization in web apps.
• Ability to learn quickly, take initiative, and work across dynamic teams.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to mentor juniors.

Responsibilities

• Full-Stack Development: design, implement, and maintain internal web apps and services for engineering teams.
• Modernization Projects: re-architect and modernize legacy tools with scalable, maintainable tech.
• Technology Integration: leverage a diverse stack including ObjectScript, OAuth2, Python, Node.js, SQL, and containers.
• CI/CD Enablement: build and maintain CI/CD pipelines (GitLab CI) for automated builds/tests/deployments.
• Observability & Reliability: implement Prometheus and Grafana for system reliability and performance.
• Cross-Team Collaboration: partner with engineers, PMs, and platform teams to deliver impactful solutions.
• Code Quality & Best Practices: write clean code; contribute to reviews and documentation.
