Job summary

Whisker seeks a Senior Software Engineer (Platform) to design, build, and operate shared backend services and high-volume telemetry pipelines for a fleet of connected devices.

You will own reliability, lead platform migrations, and drive agentic development workflows with a strong emphasis on observability and cost efficiency. Expect collaboration with Data and Analytics teams and mentoring responsibilities.

Qualifications

• BS in Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 7+ years backend development experience.
• Strong Python and TypeScript skills, plus SQL.
• Hands-on AWS experience and serverless infrastructure.
• Experience with API design (REST/GraphQL) and data pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Designs, builds, and operates shared backend services and platform capabilities.
• Owns service reliability end-to-end, including on-call rotations.
• Architects scalable, observable backend systems and cost-conscious designs.
• Leads migrations of production workloads to a new platform.
• Mentors engineers and upholds high code quality and testing standards.
