Job summary

Atmosphere TV seeks a Senior Software Engineer to own platform engineering, delivering infrastructure, delivery pipelines, and observability for a streaming platform serving tens of thousands of venues and millions of viewers. You will work closely with engineering teams, using AI to accelerate development and operations.

This on-site role reports to the VP, Engineering in Austin, TX. Ideal candidates bring strong software fundamentals, experience with infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, and cloud

Qualifications

• Bias towards simplicity.
• Computer science degree or equivalent practical experience.
• 4+ years of professional software engineering experience, building and shipping production services.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Strong fundamentals in APIs, service-to-service communication, authentication, data stores, caching, and system design.
• Some hands-on experience with infrastructure and delivery tooling: infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD, observability, and cloud infrastructure.
• Security-minded by default: identity, network exposure, authentication boundaries, and vulnerability remediation.
• Heavy, effective daily use of AI coding tools and agent workflows.

Responsibilities

• Use AI as a core part of how you plan, build, and ship.
• Be motivated, naturally curious, and enjoy solving new problems alongside other engineers.
• Build the tooling that makes AI effective for every other engineer.
• Own our infrastructure-as-code and CI/CD: module design, declared state vs reality, and fast path from commit to production.
• Define observability and resilience patterns across the org: measurable, debuggable, and alertable services by default.
• Lead upgrades of datastores, runtimes, frameworks, and SDKs ahead of end-of-life deadlines and automate recurring toil.
• Drive security remediation: triage cloud security findings, harden identity and network configuration, close authentication gaps.
• Champion simplification by decommissioning unused infrastructure and reducing cloud footprint.
• Work cross-functionally to prioritize infrastructure investments by impact.
