Job summary

Alkermes seeks a Senior Platform Engineer to build and support foundational platforms, automation, and engineering practices ensuring secure, scalable, and reliable delivery of applications, analytics, and AI solutions.

This hybrid role partners across INDIGO, Security, Infrastructure, Data & Analytics, and delivery teams to simplify development, boost productivity, and enable cloud, data, and AI initiatives.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or equivalent practical experience.
• 5+ years of experience in software/platform engineering, cloud engineering, SRE, or DevOps.
• Hands-on experience building or operating cloud platforms, preferably AWS.
• Experience with automated build, test, deployment, and release pipelines.
• Experience implementing infrastructure through code and automation.
• Experience with cloud security, monitoring, logging, and operational support.
• Proficiency in scripting or programming to automate workflows.
• Ability to deliver technical solutions within cross-functional initiatives.
• Experience with AI/ML, data, or analytics platforms is a plus.
• Strong communication for technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain reusable platform services, automation, and patterns.
• Develop self-service capabilities for app, data, and AI teams.
• Automate activities across cloud, data, AI, and delivery.
• Create tools, templates, and workflows for architecture reviews and risk assessments.
• Implement platform improvements per roadmaps.
• Build and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure as code templates.
• Monitor adoption, performance, reliability, and quality of platforms.
• Document operational procedures and platform guidance.
