Job summary

Bestow is seeking a Senior Platform Engineer in the United States to own building scalable, reliable cloud infrastructure and developer tooling. You will automate infrastructure, craft internal tools, and collaborate with platform engineers to drive architectural decisions and operational excellence.

You will work with Terraform, Pulumi, Docker, and Kubernetes, applying strong coding skills in Go, Python, Bash, or TypeScript, and actively use AI agents to assist engineering tasks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional experience working with cloud infrastructure (e.g., GCP, AWS, or Azure).
• Familiar with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Pulumi and understand CI/CD workflows.
• You write clean, maintainable code and have experience in at least one scripting or programming language (Go, Python, Bash, TypeScript).
• Hands-on experience utilizing AI agents for engineering tasks and directing them with clear context and constraints.
• Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) and with version control workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop and Maintain Cloud Infrastructure: implement and evolve IaC, monitor and optimize cloud resources.
• Support Developer Productivity: build CLI tools, shared libraries, and scripts to accelerate workflows.
• Contribute to Platform Resilience: implement dashboards, alerts, runbooks, and participate in incident response.

ABOUT THE TEAM

The engineering team is responsible for all technology powering Bestow and the Bestow Platform. We support our employees, consumers, and enterprise partners by delivering reliable, secure, and scalable systems. Our functional teams include product engineering, infrastructure, IT, data and analytics, mar-tech, and program management. We work closely with product management and design to build the right solutions and continuously improve our platform.

This role reports to the Manager of Engineering and is open to remote employees in the U.S. (48 contiguous states only.)

WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Senior Platform Engineer, you’ll own the implementation of technical projects that improve our platform’s scalability, reliability, and developer experience. You’ll independently execute scoped initiatives, automate infrastructure, and build internal tools that help product teams move faster and safer.

You’ll collaborate closely with other platform engineers and cross-functional stakeholders, applying your engineering judgment to deliver clean, maintainable solutions. As you grow into the role, you’ll take on ownership of more complex systems and begin influencing architectural choices and team processes.

This role is perfect for someone who thrives on solving problems through automation and wants to level up as a systems thinker.

Projects you might work on:

Develop and Maintain Cloud Infrastructure

• Implement and evolve infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform or Pulumi.




• Automate and monitor our Kubernetes-based platform and CI/CD pipelines.




• Contribute to infrastructure tooling that improves repeatability, safety, and visibility.

Support Developer Productivity

• Build CLI tools, shared libraries, and scripts to accelerate development workflows.




• Participate in resolving developer friction by improving build/test/deploy loops.




• Help define standards for service configuration, secrets management, and app-level observability.

Contribute to Platform Resilience

• Implement dashboards, alerts, and runbooks for services owned by platform engineering.




• Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and follow-up improvements.




• Propose and prototype changes to improve availability, scalability, and cost efficiency.

WHO YOU ARE

• 5+ years of professional experience working with cloud infrastructure (e.g., GCP, AWS, or Azure).




• You’re familiar with infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or Pulumi and understand CI/CD workflows.




• You write clean, maintainable code and have experience in at least one scripting or programming language (e.g., Go, Python, Bash, TypeScript).




• You have hands-on experience utilizing AI agents (e.g., Claude Code) for engineering tasks, demonstrating an ability to effectively direct agents through clear context, explicit constraints, and deliberate planning.




• You’ve worked with containerization (e.g., Docker) and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.




• You understand version control workflows and regularly participate in code reviews.




• You’re a strong communicator, take ownership of your work, and collaborate well with others.




• You’re eager to grow and take on more architectural and operational responsibilities.
