Job description

DocSpera builds cloud-based healthcare technology that helps organizations manage clinical workflows, including scheduling, patient communication, care journeys, and integrations.

We’re investing in the next evolution of our platform—transforming existing product capabilities into modular, scalable components that can be customized and deployed more efficiently for our customers.

The Opportunity

We’re seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to work directly with our CTO to shape the architecture and technical direction of our growing platform.

This is a hands-on role for an engineer who excels at system architecture, backend design, and technical documentation. You’ll assess our existing systems, define how they should evolve, and help implement a roadmap for a more reliable, modular, and adaptable platform.

If you enjoy solving complex architectural challenges and turning technical strategy into production-ready solutions, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the foundation of our technology.

What You’ll Do
  • Define platform architecture: Assess existing systems and design a scalable, modular architecture aligned with product and business goals.
  • Drive system design: Establish technical standards, design patterns, API contracts, and integration approaches that support reusable platform components.
  • Document the technical vision: Create architecture diagrams, design specifications, and implementation roadmaps that guide engineering decisions.
  • Build and implement: Partner with the CTO and engineering team to translate architectural plans into reliable, production-ready solutions.
  • Improve cloud infrastructure: Apply AWS best practices to strengthen platform scalability, security, reliability, and deployment efficiency.
  • Collaborate across engineering: Work with engineers across product areas to improve interoperability, share technical knowledge, and establish consistent development practices.
What You’ll Bring
  • Approximately 7+ years of software engineering experience, including platform, backend, infrastructure, or distributed systems work.
  • Strong system architecture and design skills, with the ability to evaluate existing systems and develop practical improvement plans.
  • Hands-on AWS and cloud-native experience, including familiarity with the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Experience designing APIs, reusable services, integrations, or shared platform components.
  • Strong technical documentation skills and the ability to communicate architectural decisions clearly.
  • A track record of implementing the systems you design—not just recommending solutions.
  • A collaborative approach to technical problem-solving and engineering best practices.
Nice to have:

AWS Solutions Architect Professional certification, infrastructure-as-code experience, event-driven architecture, containerization, and experience in regulated environments such as healthcare or financial services.

Why Join DocSpera?
  • Influence technical direction: Partner directly with the CTO on meaningful architecture decisions.
  • Build for scale: Help transform existing technology into reusable platform capabilities.
  • Make a tangible impact: Improve how we develop, deploy, and deliver solutions to healthcare customers.
  • Work collaboratively: Join a growing, relatively flat engineering team where technical contributions matter.
Work authorization:

Authorization to work in the United States is required.

If you’re a hands-on engineer who enjoys designing better systems and bringing architectural ideas to life, we’d like to connect.
