Job summary

Piper Companies is seeking a Senior Data/Platform Engineer to join a healthcare technology organization. The Senior Data/Platform Engineer will play a key role in rebuilding the company's data pipeline from the ground up, helping modernize the platform and establish a scalable foundation for future growth.

You will design and develop integrations for APIs and data feeds, build event-driven services, and apply AWS, Terraform, CI/CD, and containerization practices to deliver reliable data

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience building large-scale data platforms.
• Experience re-architecting or rebuilding data pipelines from the ground up.
• Strong experience with Python, Node.js, Go or TS back-end technologies.
• Deep knowledge of ETL, data pipelines, event-driven architectures and integrations.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines and containerization.
• Advanced SQL and data warehousing with Redshift/Snowflake/BigQuery.

Responsibilities

• Rebuild and modernize a legacy data pipeline with scalable ingestion, processing and storage.
• Design and develop integrations for APIs, vendor feeds, BigQuery and external sources.
• Build event-driven services and ETL processes using Python/Node.js/Go/TS.
• Develop and manage AWS infrastructure using Terraform, CI/CD, and containerization best practices.
• Establish observability, monitoring, lineage tracking and operational standards for production data systems.
• Lead data migration, reconciliation, backfill and cutover with data accuracy and integrity.

Responsibilities of the Senior Data/Platform Engineer:

• Rebuild and modernize a legacy data pipeline, creating scalable and reliable ingestion, processing, and storage solutions.
• Design and develop integrations for APIs, vendor file feeds, BigQuery, and other external data sources.
• Build event-driven services and ETL processes using Python, Node.js, or similar technologies.
• Develop and manage AWS infrastructure utilizing Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization best practices.
• Establish observability, monitoring, lineage tracking, and operational standards for production data systems.
• Lead data migration, reconciliation, backfill, and cutover efforts while ensuring data accuracy and integrity.

Qualifications of the Senior Data/Platform Engineer:

• 7+ years of experience building and supporting large-scale data platforms, backend systems, or data engineering environments.
• Proven experience re-architecting, modernizing, or rebuilding data pipelines, data platforms, or infrastructure from the ground up.
• Strong experience with Python, Node.js, Go, TypeScript, or similar backend development technologies.
• Deep knowledge of ETL processes, data pipelines, event-driven architectures, and system integrations.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, Terraform, CI/CD pipelines, and containerization technologies.
• Advanced SQL and data warehousing expertise with Redshift, Snowflake, or similar platforms.

Compensation for the Senior Data/Platform Engineer includes:

• Salary range: $180,000 - $220,000 (Depending on Experience)
• Opportunity to convert to a full-time employee following the initial contract engagement
• Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, 401(k)
