Job Description
About Productiv:
Productiv started with a vision to transform the way enterprises manage and optimize their software portfolios. With a focus on driving efficiency and transparency in IT, Procurement, and Finance departments, we're revolutionizing SaaS management. At Productiv, we believe in enabling companies to make data-driven decisions that propel growth and foster innovation.
What you’ll do:
We’re looking for a Senior Platform Engineer to join our growing infrastructure team. As an early member of the team, you’ll play a critical role in designing and delivering resilient, scalable systems that power our product.
You’ll take ownership of major initiatives—like improving monitoring, leading our transition from CDK to Terraform, and shaping our long-term infrastructure strategy. This role is perfect for someone who’s passionate about cloud-native infrastructure, automation, and creating systems that operate reliably at scale.
Your Responsibilities:
- Design & Deliver Scalable Infrastructure: Build and maintain highly available, secure, and cost-effective infrastructure with a focus on long-term scalability, performance, and maintainability.
- Lead Observability Initiatives: Implement, maintain, and evolve our observability stack including logging, alerting, and monitoring. Drive migrations from legacy tools like AWS CloudWatch to best-in-class platforms such as DataDog, Honeycomb, or Kloudfuse.
- Champion Infrastructure as Code: Lead the transition from AWS CDK to Terraform, ensuring clean, modular, and version-controlled infrastructure deployment practices.
- Optimize System Performance: Continuously assess and improve system design and operational practices to ensure efficiency and uptime across the board.
- Uplevel Team Standards: Identify process gaps and contribute to the evolution of infrastructure engineering practices and documentation.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Engage with product, engineering, and security stakeholders to ensure infrastructure meets technical and business needs.
Your Experience:
- 5+ years of experience in infrastructure or DevOps roles, with a strong focus on AWS.
- Infrastructure & Systems Expertise: Deep understanding of server, storage, and network virtualization. Experienced in designing fault-tolerant, containerized applications using cloud-native patterns and components.
- Cloud Fluency: Hands-on expertise with AWS services and cloud architecture. Capable of designing scalable environments with services like EC2, ECS/EKS, RDS, Lambda, VPC, and more.
- IaC & Automation Mastery: Proficient with both AWS CDK and Terraform. Strong experience with CI/CD pipelines and automating cloud deployments with tools like GitHub Actions, CircleCI, or similar.
- Observability Mindset: Practical experience with monitoring and logging platforms such as DataDog, Honeycomb, or Kloudfuse, and leading successful migrations from legacy systems.
- Engineering Best Practices: Applies best-in-class system design principles. Writes modular, testable, and well-documented infrastructure code with an eye toward cost-efficiency and maintainability.
- Sharp Troubleshooting Skills: Proven ability to diagnose and resolve infrastructure issues, design for failure, and build systems that are resilient by default
We are a distributed team looking for teammates in the Bay Area, Seattle, WA, Denver, CO, and New York City. We hire the best people for our company and do not require employees to work from a designated office. However, we value in person collaboration and hire within specific hubs to ensure we can efficiently gather in person on a regular basis.
- Medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your dependents.
- A robust 401K plan to help you invest in your future.
- Access to Modern Health for mental health resources and support.
- Monthly subsidies to cover your telecommunications needs and support your ongoing personal growth and wellness.
- For those near one of our offices, an FSA Commuter/Parking Benefit and lunches when you’re working from one of our offices.
- A family-first approach with 12 weeks of paternity leave and 18 weeks of maternity leave, ensuring you have the time you need with your new family members.
