An established industry player is seeking a dedicated System Administrator to define and manage their data center infrastructure. 12BASIC PURPOSE:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Researches and evaluates software for the Bank's network, operating systems, and associated infrastructure. Meets with vendors and Bank staff to analyze business requirements and technology solutions best qualified to meet the Bank's information processing needs.
Provides Tier II technical support along with guidance, recommendations, and backup for Tier I support staff (Information Technology Services Support Center). Recommends solutions to problems and notifies management of potential problem areas.
Plans, coordinates, and manages the design and implementation of the Bank's private, public, and hybrid cloud environments. This requires working closely with the department management to coordinate overall planning, design and implementation.
Maintains proficiency with industry best practices in security, integration, and testing.
Researches new cloud technologies and prototype solutions that can be leveraged to reduce cost and increase performance.
Acts as a subject matter expert and trusted partner and maintains the infrastructure architecture strategies, standards, target architectures and roadmaps.
Works with the Manager of Platform Engineering in defining, implementing, and monitoring the Bank's information security policies.
Ensures all security related vulnerabilities are evaluated for risk and patched, remediated, or mitigated according to established security standards.
Ensures comprehensive business continuity architecture is maintained and operations are in place to ensure compliance with required RPOs and RTOs during business continuity events.
Maintains the redundancy and resiliency of Bank systems and services while ensuring that all infrastructure is properly configured and hardened.
Manages change control, configuration, monitoring, maintenance, capacity planning, and performance management of the production, non-production, and business continuity infrastructure.
Defines, implements, and coordinates plans, policies, procedures, and standards related to the Bank's infrastructure.
Assists in the preparation of reports for management review showing technology use at the Bank.
Participates in a fast-paced DevOps and SecOps Engineering team within Kanban agile processes.
Participates in the periodic on-call duties for provided services.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES:
Must be self-motivated with the ability to work with minimal supervision.
Formal training regarding operating systems administration and security is required.
A thorough understanding of troubleshooting and logic along with a comprehensive knowledge of computers, networks, and system software is required.
Knowledge of project planning and implementation is required.
Knowledge of capacity planning and performance monitoring and tuning is required.
Thorough knowledge of the following technologies is required:
Operating systems (UNIX, Windows, and Linux)
Virtualization technologies (VMware)
Encryption protocol management
Proxy servers
Directory Servers
Email servers
Application servers (JBoss and Apache/Tomcat)
Firewalls (Palo Alto)
Load Balancers (Citrix)
Excellent written and verbal communications and teamwork skills are required.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTSA bachelor's degree in computer science, five years of professional experience in information technology, and five years of system administration experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience is necessary.
Work Location:This individual must reside within commuting distance from ourAtlanta, GAoffice.
Work Schedule:Onsite with an opportunity to work remote partially.
