Job summary

Shield AI is seeking a Sr. Staff Platform / Data Reliability Engineer to make the Databricks lakehouse reliable, secure, and scalable for enterprise use. You’ll own the platform’s operational layer above cloud foundations and collaborate with data and infrastructure teams.

You’ll define CI/CD standards, implement deployment patterns, enforce access controls in a highly regulated environment, mentor engineers, and help scale platform capabilities across domains.

Qualifications

Extensive experience in data platform engineering and platform operations.
Strong knowledge of SRE concepts including observability and reliability.
Experience with cloud data platforms and security/compliance in production environments.
Ability to design and operate CI/CD, environment promotion, and deployment automation for data platforms.

Responsibilities

Own operational excellence for the Databricks platform, including monitoring and incident response.
Define CI/CD and promotion standards for Databricks assets and environments.
Design platform standards for job orchestration, compute policies, and production reliability.
Collaborate with data engineers and infrastructure to ensure observable, cost-aware production.
