Job summary

SundaySky is seeking a Principal Engineer to provide hands-on technical leadership across the product and platform. This senior IC role focuses on turning ambiguous goals into durable architecture and guiding cross‑team initiatives.

You will shape the multi‑tenant SaaS platform, drive modernization, partner with product and UX, and mentor senior engineers while delivering scalable video creation, rendering, and AI‑assisted features.

Qualifications

• Approximately 12+ years of professional software development experience.
• Demonstrated leadership in production SaaS environments.
• Expert full-stack capability with modern JavaScript/TypeScript and backend tech (Node.js/Python/Java/C#).
• Deep experience with distributed systems and scalable architectures.
• Strong communication and ability to influence stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Define and evolve the technical architecture for the multi-tenant SaaS platform across frontend/backend/data/infrastructure.
• Lead the most cross-cutting product and platform initiatives with technical strategy and design.
• Prototype critical paths, contribute production code, review high-impact changes, and resolve complex engineering problems.
• Establish architectural principles, boundaries, data contracts, and records to enable fast but safe development.
• Drive modernization while preserving business continuity and customer value.
