Job summary

KENTECH Consulting Inc is seeking a Lead Platform Architect to design and personally build the technical foundation of a new enterprise SaaS platform. This is a hands-on, technically heavy role with direct access to the Founder & CEO and the chance to influence architecture, standards, and the initial engineering team.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in professional software engineering and hands-on production coding.
• Experience as Staff/Principal/Lead Engineer or equivalent.
• Production SaaS design and multi-tenant systems experience.
• Backend focus with strong API and security expertise.
• Relational DB design and data modeling proficiency.
• AWS in regulated environments and modern delivery practices.
• CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and observability knowledge.
• Ability to independently evaluate architectural tradeoffs.
• Experience translating business requirements into scalable tech solutions.

Responsibilities

• Design architecture for a secure, scalable, multi-tenant SaaS platform.
• Personally write production software alongside senior engineers.
• Establish domain and data architecture.
• Design authentication, authorization, RBAC, and permissions.
• Define API and integration architecture.
• Ensure secure handling of sensitive information and documents.
• Set auditability and transaction-history standards.
• Define cloud architecture and deployment strategy.
• Establish engineering standards, code reviews, testing, and docs.
• Set up CI/CD, observability, monitoring, and production support.
• Make build-vs-buy decisions and prevent tech debt.
• Evaluate assets and advise retention/refactor/replace.
• Recruit, interview, and mentor initial engineering team.
• Translate business needs into scalable tech solutions.
• Foster ownership, quality, speed, and accountability.
