Everforth Apex Systems in Jersey City, New Jersey is seeking a Principal Platform Architect to lead initiatives to improve platform resiliency, recoverability and fault tolerance across electronic trading platforms. You will design scalable, low-latency architectures and advance observability in cloud-native, event-driven environments.

The role requires 12+ years building large-scale distributed trading systems, expert Java and Python development, JVM tuning, and experience with AMPS messaging.

Qualifications

• 12+ years designing and delivering large-scale distributed electronic trading platforms.
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical discipline preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead initiatives to improve platform resiliency, recoverability, and fault tolerance across eCredit and Portfolio Trading platforms.
• Design and implement scalable architectures capable of supporting growing trading volumes and throughput.
• Drive observability improvements through monitoring, telemetry, alerting, distributed tracing, and operational analytics.
• Develop capacity management and performance engineering strategies to proactively identify and address system bottlenecks.
• Modernize platform architecture through cloud-native, event-driven, and automation-first practices.
• Establish engineering standards, architecture patterns, and best practices for mission-critical trading systems.
