Charles Schwab Technology Services seeks a Director, Principal Platform Architect to shape resilient, scalable enterprise platforms. You will define target-state architectures, guide major decisions, and translate strategy into practical roadmaps with measurable outcomes.

The ideal candidate brings enterprise resiliency, batch processing, hosting platforms, and applied AI experience, plus executive communication and cross-functional leadership to drive cross-functional decisions.

Qualifications

12+ years in technology with enterprise architecture experience.
Experience creating architecture roadmaps and modernization plans.
Strong in resiliency, recovery, observability, and ownership.
Experience with batch scheduling and hosting platforms.

Responsibilities

Define target-state architectures and roadmaps for mission-critical platforms.
Lead architecture decisions across resiliency, hosting, and modernization.
Assess platforms for availability, recoverability, observability, and readiness.
Guide batch environment modernization including scheduling and monitoring.
Evaluate hosting strategies across on-prem, cloud, hybrid and containers.
Identify AI opportunities to improve platform engineering and ops.
Translate options and risks into actionable plans for execs.
Lead architecture reviews and drive solutions from strategy to ownership.
Mentor architects and create reusable guidance for the practice.
