Job summary

Centor is seeking a Senior Plastics Product Development Manager to serve as the technical authority for tooling, mold design, manufacturability, and process optimization from concept through production for injection molding operations in Millersburg, Ohio.

The role involves validating mold designs, running simulations, leading mold development from part design to production molds, and driving continuous improvement to reduce cycle times while ensuring quality and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• BA in Mechanical Engineering; 7–10 years in high-speed manufacturing as a Mold Shop Manager.
• Advanced knowledge of molds, mold systems, and tooling for manufacturing.
• Expertise in injection molds, blow molds, mold construction, tooling systems, and mold maintenance.
• Deep understanding of plastics materials, resin behavior, shrinkage, cooling, and processing characteristics.
• Knowledge of materials, equipment, quality control, and production processes for goods manufacture.

Responsibilities

• Support, validate, and revise mold design and fabrication for prototype and final tooling.
• Use mold-filling simulation software to simulate molten plastic flow into mold geometries.
• Evaluate and optimize new mold designs before steel is cut and solve problems with existing molds.
• Direct, review, and approve mold designs and changes within the facility.
• Perform cooling time, gate seal, CPW, pressure drop, fill, cavity balance, and viscosity studies.
