Job summary

The role involves mold design oversight, vendor management, and project leadership to deliver robust tooling, improved quality, on-time parts, and cost reductions.

Collaborate across operations, quality, industrial, manufacturing and engineering to resolve molding problems and drive process improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree; or extensive related work experience.
• 5+ years’ experience in plastic injection tooling (design, development, maintenance).
• Experience developing and managing engineering staff in a cross-functional environment.

Responsibilities

• Owns tooling procurement and repairs to meet on-time shipping goals.
• Leads preventative maintenance plans for tools.
• Supports all plastic tooling related functions.
• Collaborates with operations, quality, and engineering to implement tooling processes.
• Resolves production issues from tooling perspective.
• Understands all phases of mold development.
• Interfaces with tooling vendors to install new tools.
• Ensures ISO and Lean Manufacturing compliance.
• Responds to design issues with effective countermeasures.
• Supports cross-functional sales, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
• Researches and implements new tooling technology to meet objectives.
• Completes tool condition reports at specified intervals.
