Job summary

BorgWarner is seeking an experienced mechanical design engineer in the United States to coordinate and perform design and development tasks for driveline systems. You will lead warranty resolution, drive cost-reduction initiatives, and coordinate DFMA activities across teams.

The role requires a four-year engineering degree and 8+ years in automotive product engineering and manufacturing, with strong GD&T and DFMEA/DFM/DFA experience. This is an in-person role at BorgWarner.

Qualifications

• Four-year bachelor’s degree in engineering required.
• 8+ years experience in automotive product engineering and manufacturing is required.
• Knowledge of GD&T is required.
• Experience and/or training in DFMEAs is required.
• Experience and/or training in DFM/DFA is required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform design and development engineering tasks.
• Lead warranty resolution and cost-reduction initiatives.
• Develop proposals for mechanical hardware and lead estimation for production changes.
• Lead design directions with drawings, specifications, FEA analysis, and component designs.
• Develop technical documentation and engineering specifications for assemblies and sub-assemblies.
• Lead prototype builds and oversee hardware sign-off for testing.
