Job summary

Solenis in Suffolk, VA is seeking a Lead VFA Senior Plant Operator to support safe, efficient production and back up the Shift Supervisor.

You will help commission a new plant on site, transition to a rotating 12-hour shift after 1–2 years, and collaborate with Maintenance, Lab, Engineering and Material Handling to maximize equipment performance and meet production targets while upholding safety and environmental standards.

Qualifications

• High School diploma; proficient in math, written and spoken English.
• Strong knowledge of hazardous chemical handling.
• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to follow direction across multiple departments

Responsibilities

• Operate plant to meet productivity targets safely and follow standard procedures.
• Monitor process and adjust control parameters with the control systems.
• Conduct routine rounds and actively participate in shift turnover.
• Maintain process control to ensure First Pass Quality is achieved.
• Create process orders and maintenance work orders within SAP.
• Be actively involved in Safety Programs and train others in safety practices.
• Provide coverage for supervisory role during supervisor absence and permit support.
