Job summary
ONEOK is seeking a highly skilled Plant Operator to support operation and maintenance of natural gas gathering and processing facilities. In this advanced role, you will operate with minimal supervision to monitor and ensure safe, efficient performance across systems.
You will work with compressors, engines, pumps, turbines and control systems, perform startups/shutdowns, support maintenance, troubleshoot issues, and mentor less experienced operators.
Qualifications
- Experience with and thorough knowledge of compressor station operations.
- Knowledge of gas and liquid processing fundamentals.
- Safe handling of flammable gases and high‑pressure systems.
- Ability to read drawings, logs, gauges, and manuals.
- Experience maintaining safety/environmental records.
Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain processing plant equipment including compressors, motors, engines, pumps, turbines, and treating systems.
- Monitor and control pressures, temperatures, flow and reflux rates.
- Start and stop equipment and prepare for maintenance activities (permits, lockout/tagout, decommissioning).
- Assist mechanics with repairs to equipment and controls.
- Provide training to less experienced operators.
- Identify and report safety or environmental concerns.
- Maintain time sheets, work logs, and maintenance records.
- Drive and ensure maintenance of company vehicles.
- DOT functions and emergency response on a pipeline as needed.
