Job summary

California Men's Colony in San Luis Obispo is seeking a Correctional Plant Manager II to oversee Plant Operations, directing maintenance of buildings, utilities, and a licensed hospital facility, water and wastewater plants, and the security of work areas.

Under general supervision, you will supervise staff, coordinate with state agencies, ensure licensing and safety compliance, manage budgets, and support the department's mission to protect public safety while maintaining humane conditions.

Responsibilities

• Direct maintenance and activities of Plant Operations institutional staff.
• Supervise maintenance, repair and protection of buildings, structures, utilities and equipment.
• Monitor facility compliance with licensing and environmental agencies and correct deficiencies cited.
• Coordinate projects and budgets with OS Architect, Office of the State Fire Marshal, Department of Health Services and FP&C.
• Maintain order and supervise the conduct of persons committed to the Department to prevent escapes and injuries.
• Maintain security of all work areas and ensure searches for contraband and weapons are performed.
