Job summary

California Men's Colony in San Luis Obispo is seeking a Correctional Plant Manager II to oversee Plant Operations, directing maintenance of buildings, utilities, and a licensed hospital facility, water and wastewater plants, and the security of work areas.

Under general supervision, you will supervise staff, coordinate with state agencies, ensure licensing and safety compliance, manage budgets, and support the department's mission to protect public safety while maintaining humane conditions.

Under general supervision of the Correctional Administrator, Business Services, the Correctional Plant Manager (CPM) II is responsible for directing the maintenance and activities of Plant Operations institutional staff. Supervise the maintenance, repair and protection of buildings, structures, utilities and equipment. Monitor the facility's compliance with all existing licensing and environmental agencies and correct deficiencies cited by the licensing and regulatory bodies. Coordinate projects and budgetary items with various agencies, including the Office of the State Architect, Office of the State Fire Marshal, Department of Health Services and CDCR's Facility, Planning and Construction Management. Responsible for the maintenance of a licensed general acute care hospital facility, water treatment plant, and waste water treatment plant. Maintain order and supervise the conduct of persons committed to the Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation to prevent escapes and injury by these persons to themselves or others. Will maintain security of all work areas, ensuring searches for contraband and weapons are performed. See attached duty statement.
