Engtal is seeking a Senior Plant Mechanical Estimator to support a growing District Energy and Central Utility Plant practice. The role centers on delivering budgets and pricing for high‑value campus utilities and large mechanical systems in the Greater Boston area.
The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of relevant experience, strong knowledge of central plants and district energy, and the ability to work with vendors to assemble competitive pricing.
We are currently partnered with a highly respected New England construction firm in their search for a Senior Plant Mechanical Estimator to support the continued growth of their District Energy and Central Utility Plant business.
This is an opportunity to join a 100+ year-old contractor with a strong reputation across higher education, healthcare, public/institutional, infrastructure, energy, and technically complex construction.
Their District Energy group has become one of the company’s largest areas of focus and currently performs approximately $300M in annual work, with the majority of that volume concentrated throughout Greater Boston and New England. The team also has an established backlog and is continuing to expand throughout New York and the Mid-Atlantic.
The company has an established preconstruction and estimating team with specialists across mechanical, electrical, civil, structural, and other technical disciplines. This hire is intended to strengthen the front end of that group and add additional technical depth around major central plant and campus utility projects.
What You'll Be Working On
Projects are often brought to the team very early in the planning process, before a complete design exists.
A client may come to the team with a need for additional cooling, steam, or plant capacity, and this person will help determine what equipment and supporting systems are required, how the plant should be configured, what constructability or phasing challenges need to be considered, and what the overall project is likely to cost.
