Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Sr Engineer II, Plant Controls to lead design, configuration and commissioning of SCADA systems for utility-scale renewables projects. You’ll define plant requirements, select interconnection concepts, and supervise field deployment with third-party providers.

You will guide design, support on-site commissioning, and collaborate with Operations and Development to align SCADA strategies with business goals.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical/Control engineering or related field.
• Minimum 12 years in control systems and SCADA platforms.
• Strong networking and RTU/configuration experience.
• Experience with project documentation and stakeholder communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead SCADA design, configuration and commissioning across multiple projects.
• Coordinate with project managers and SMEs to meet SCADA requirements and timelines.
• Review contracts and contribute to technical discussions and standard setting.
• Gather technical requirements from grid codes and contracts for SCADA systems.
• Develop standard exhibits and documentation for projects.
• Oversee vendors and integrators on control system definitions and scope of works.
• Train and mentor junior engineers; support on-site commissioning.
