Job summary

RWE Americas, LLC is seeking a Sr Engineer II, Plant Controls to lead SCADA design and commissioning across renewable projects. You will gather requirements, determine SCADA concepts, and ensure robust control system design while working with third-party providers and internal teams.

You will guide the implementation, support on-site commissioning, and train junior engineers, with travel up to 20%. This role sits at the intersection of Operations and Development in a dynamic renewables

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 12+ years of experience in control systems and SCADA platforms.
• Strong networking design fundamentals (fiber/ethernet, switches, VLANs).
• Experience configuring RTUs or plant controllers; software development a plus.
• Proven ability to produce technical documentation (exhibits, scope of works, narratives).
• Experience commissioning networking and plant controls; oversee contractors.

Responsibilities

• Leads SCADA design, configuration, and commissioning on multiple projects; guides junior engineers.
• Coordinates with project managers and engineering SMEs to meet SCADA requirements and timelines.
• Reviews contracts, provides technical input, and helps develop standards and documentation.
• Gathers technical requirements from grid codes, standards, and contracts for SCADA system capability.
• Develops and oversees scope of work and technical requirements for vendors and integrators.
• Travels up to 20% to sites; communicates with stakeholders and training junior staff.
