Job summary

Sterling St James LLC is seeking a Plant Automation SME for Brown Deer, WI. The role focuses on acting as the facility's technical authority for high-capacity automation lines, robotics, and control systems. 1st shift with stable schedule and substantial annual bonuses is offered.

You will diagnose advanced systems, troubleshoot PLCs on AB and Siemens platforms, and provide leadership to maintenance staff while contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

• 8+ years in industrial maintenance and automation in high-volume manufacturing.
• Hands-on experience with robotics, VFDs, and live PLC logic.
• Ability to read electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic schematics.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced diagnostics on high-capacity automation lines and robotic cells.
• Monitor and troubleshoot PLCs on Allen-Bradley and Siemens platforms.
• Read complex schematics and interpret drawings to isolate faults.
• Maintain and repair Power & Fluid systems including hydraulics and pneumatics.
• Lead and mentor junior technicians, driving down downtime.
