Job summary

Merck & Co., Inc. in Rahway, NJ (or West Point, PA) seeks a Senior Specialist to lead automation and IT/OT infrastructure for GMP manufacturing and pilot plants. You will design, build, and support OT networks, SCADA/DCS, DeltaV, MES, and related systems, working with scientists and engineers.

You will drive project scoping, technical requirements, and architecture while ensuring OT cybersecurity and validated processes in a regulated environment.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in upstream manufacturing or pilot plant automation with DeltaV, DCS, or similar platforms.
• 4+ years with Rockwell/Allen-Bradley PLCs, HMI/SCADA, OT cybersecurity, and IT/OT integration.
• 4+ years of knowledge in VMware, PI Historian, MES, and regulated computer system support.

Responsibilities

• Optimize IT/OT infrastructure for plant automation and process control.
• Build and support OT infrastructure for GMP manufacturing and pilot operations.
• Lead scoping, requirements, deliverables, commissioning readiness, estimates, and automation infrastructure solutions.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to translate needs into technical requirements.
