Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required.
• Five to ten years of progressive accounting experience within manufacturing, plant setting preferred.
• Experience managing accounting functions and staff.
• Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Office.
• Strong analytical, communication, and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and develop plant accounting staff.
• Establish and maintain procedures for account reconciliations and analysis.
• Review general ledger activity for internal controls compliance.
• Oversee inventory accounting and inventory control processes.
• Manage the plant accounts payable function.
• Monitor production rates, yields, cost per ton, material usage, and labor hours.
• Provide training and development opportunities for accounting staff.
• Serve as a key resource for financial systems training and process improvements.
• Lead monthly financial close and reporting activities.
• Review and approve journal entries; maintain accruals.
• Coordinate fixed asset records and CIP with corporate tax.
• Support capital spending analysis with engineering and operations.
• Assist in cost reporting, budgeting, and rolling forecasts.
