Job summary

Westlake Chemical in Texas seeks a Senior Accountant in Plant Controlling to lead plant accounting, inventory control and variance analysis in collaboration with Operations Managers. You will manage month‑end close, journal entries, and ensure robust internal controls across sites.

The role interfaces with HQ Finance and IT, supports cost savings initiatives, budgeting and CAPEX reviews, and ensures timely, accurate reporting in a manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 3+ years progressive accounting experience in manufacturing or industry.
• Experience with inventories, fixed assets, financial analysis and multi-plant budgeting.
• CPA, CMA or Master’s degree preferred; strong cost accounting knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Own plant balance sheet and P&L control, monthly close, and variances.
• Prepare journal entries and reconciliations; ensure internal controls.
• Support inventory costing and cost saving initiatives; interact with Operations and HQ teams.
• Assist audits, prepare reporting packages, and coordinate across locations.
