Job summary

AMETEK, Inc. is seeking a Senior Accountant in Collegeville, PA to lead financial closing, reporting, and general accounting functions.

The role collaborates across departments to compile statements, run journal entries, and ensure compliance with GAAP and local regulations. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting (Master’s preferred) with 5–8 years of accounting experience, strong MS Office and GL system skills, and the ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining accuracy

STATEMENT OF PURPOSE

The Senior Accountant will be responsible for financial closing, financial reporting, general accounting, and other various accounting functions such as month end, quarter end and year end closings, assist with preparation of monthly financial statements, journal entries, arrange chargebacks, notifications, reports and account reconciliations. These tasks are to be completed in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and federal, state and local laws and regulations. The position will work with the organization at all levels to gather information, produce various reports and ensure compliance with all corporate financial reporting requirements.

• Bachelor degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Masters Degree is a plus.
• Must have 5-8 years experience in an accounting role
• Highly proficient in MS Office software (Word, Excel, Access and Outlook) as well as General Leger software systems
• Able to prioritize work and meet project deadlines
• Able to read/analyze financial related data and/or reports
• Excellent analytical, problem solving and data-manipulation skills
