Job summary

Qualifications

• Five years' experience relevant to building code enforcement.
• Must have ICC Building Plans Examiner certification or obtain within 6 months of employment.
• Possession of other ICC certifications is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Review and issue building permits.
• Explain ordinances to the public and professionals.
• Coordinate and perform inspections for compliance.
• Prepare reports and maintain files.
• Attend meetings as City Staff Representative.

Skills

Knowledge of ICC Codes and standards

Knowledge of building construction methods

Ability to interpret plans and specifications

Education

Five years' experience in plan review or related field
