Job summary

Village of Palm Springs is seeking a Planning professional to lead urban design, zoning and current planning efforts. You will write staff reports, supervise staff, and present to the Planning and Zoning Board and City Council.

The role focuses on implementing the Comprehensive Plan and economic development initiatives. The ideal candidate has a strong background in comprehensive planning, zoning knowledge, and the ability to coordinate across City, county and regional partners.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning, public administration, social sciences, architecture, urban design, or closely related field.
• Five years of comprehensive planning experience, current planning, urban design, or landscape architecture.
• Preferred: Master's degree and AICP certification.

Responsibilities

• Collect, analyze and present data for a comprehensive planning program.
• Assist in formulating and administering the City's Comprehensive Plan and Land Development Regulations.
• Research and prepare zoning and land development regulations aligned with the plan.
• Prepare and process Comprehensive Plan amendments with City entities.
• Conduct planning and zoning studies and review site/permit plans for compliance.
