Durham County Council invites applications for two Senior Planning Officers to join the Development Management Team in Durham. You will manage complex planning applications from pre-application advice through to determination and appeals, working on major developments including housing, commercial, infrastructure and energy projects.

You will mentor junior officers, lead significant projects, and contribute to delivering high-quality, sustainable development across County Durham.

Qualifications

• Educated to Degree level in town planning or equivalent
• Professional qualification with RTPI
• Proven experience in planning and development management
• Ability to work on complex, large-scale projects
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

Responsabilités

• Manage complex planning applications from pre-application advice through to determination and appeals
• Work on major developments including housing, commercial, infrastructure, renewable energy, minerals and waste
• Lead significant projects and mentor junior officers
