Job summary

Lumen is seeking a Senior Planning Engineer to apply approved technologies to growth needs across the U.S. You will own a defined territory and be accountable for delivering a best‑in‑class experience for customers within that area.

You will develop plans for OSP/ISP plant construction, monitor capacity trends, define market level strategies, and collaborate with Transport, Field Operations, and Engineering. Strong analysis, budgeting, and cross‑functional leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• Typically with 6+ years of experience; Bachelor's Degree; 4+ with a Master's Degree.
• 4+ years inside and outside plant experience in telecommunications with in-depth knowledge of ISP/OSP equipment and designs.
• Demonstrated ability to deliver in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration across organizations.

Responsibilities

• Develops/defines plans for implementation of new OSP/ISP plant construction or modifications to existing facilities.
• Oversees network capacity trends and recommends actions to optimize cost and performance.
• Defines and implements market level strategies for short- and long-term product/technology transformation.
• Supports cross-functional organizations in transport, Core Wave, Field Operations & Implementation, Custom Networks, A&E, etc.
• Prepares plans and specifications; provides cost data for budgeting and capital planning.
• Monitors and controls project expenditures.
• Oversees installation/construction and testing of plant facilities.
